About us
Hello! We are twin sisters, Sam & Beck, here to change the way you sip!
Ok, let’s just be frank about the current drinking ice situation. You HATE refilling the ice cube trays in your freezer, there are never enough cubes for everyone’s drink, and they always spill when you carry them from the sink. Are we right?!
So you’re only option is to buy ice in a 5Kg bag that won’t fit in your apartment freezer! Plus – it’s not specifically made to go in your drinks, only to keep them cool from the outside. Let us introduce you to the drinking ice revolution, Social Sip, but before we do, we have to go back to the beginning…
Although we are twins, we are very different. We have both spent the last 13 years climbing to the top of our own respective fields.
Diving Deep and Rising High
Sam has carved a new path to become the first female Clearance Diving Officer in Royal Australian Navy history (round of applause please!). She has lived and worked mainly in New South Wales, spending a lot of her time around the spectacular Sydney Harbour.
Beck has created her own line of cosmetic tattooing supplies which she markets and sells to wholesalers across the state of Queensland. She has also developed the online education program for the very first nationally recognised Diploma of Cosmetic Tattooing and spends her free time lobbying the government to include areola tattooing on the Medicare rebate.
We have spent the last 13 years apart, living in separate states and only seeing each other once a year. Now, after all of this time, we live in the same capital city and have made it our priority to develop our newest love, Social Sip.
Ice Breakers
While living our separate lives we both came across the same issue: 5Kg bags of ice. Sam couldn’t fit them into her apartment freezer in Sydney, and Beck was fed up with having to scoop dirty, grass filled ice from her boyfriend’s esky to make a drink.
When Sam came back from an overseas trip to Spain she brought with her a revolutionary idea - 2kgs bags of ice made specifically to put in your drink! After many conversations over wine and cocktails, we settled on the idea of round ice cubes to minimise surface area for slower melting and longer drinking enjoyment.
There’s a lot of love and happiness poured into this project and we hope you are able to enjoy your next drink just that little bit more, while indulging in genuine conversations with those closest to you.
